It is located in the northwestern corner of the town of Plattekill, centered at the junction of the US 44/NY 55 concurrency and NY 32. ==History== The area was first settled in the late 17th century and was originally called "Clark's Corner". The name was changed to Modena in 1829, and the hamlet was named for either the Italian city of Modena〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Profile for Modena, New York, NY )〕 or for Mary of Modena, the new wife of James II. In turn, the service area nearby on the southbound New York State Thruway was named after the hamlet.
